If you’ve ever caught a whiff of vanilla and felt something shift inside you — warm, comforted, a little addicted and then you already know why vanilla is one of the most universally loved fragrance notes in the world. But vanilla is not one thing. It can be creamy and gourmand, smoky and dark, light and floral, boozy and bold, or so clean and powdery it almost disappears into your skin like a second scent.

I’ve been collecting fragrances for a while now, and vanilla has quietly taken over my perfume shelf. So I decided to put together this list of the best vanilla perfumes for women in India, across every budget, from under ₹700 to luxury designer picks , all of which I’ve personally tried and have opinions on.

Let’s get into it.

A Quick Note Before We Start

Not all vanilla fragrances are the same, and that’s honestly the most exciting thing about this list. Some of these are heavy, rich, and unmistakably gourmand. Others are so light and wearable that you’ll forget you’re wearing them until someone leans in and asks what you’re wearing. I’ve tried to note the “vanilla type” for each one so you can find exactly what you’re looking for.

Budget Picks (Under ₹2,000)

1. Nykaa Moi Delicate Vanilla – ₹649 (30ml)

This one was love at first sniff. I tried it for the first time at a Nykaa store, and I genuinely couldn’t put it down.

The name tells you exactly what you’re getting: soft, floral vanilla. It’s gentle, pretty, and completely wearable. There’s a lily note that keeps it from feeling heavy, making it ideal for everyday wear – college, errands, casual days where you just want to smell nice without trying too hard.

The honest bit: It doesn’t last very long. You’re looking at 3–4 hours on skin. But for ₹649, it’s genuinely hard to complain. It’s a beautiful entry-level vanilla for anyone just starting to explore the note.

Best for: Everyday wear, beginners, soft feminine vibes Longevity: 3–4 hours on skin Vanilla type: Soft floral vanilla

2. Zara Rose Gourmand — approx. ₹1,850 (80ml)

Rose Gourmand is for the person who can never quite decide between florals and gourmands — and then realizes they don’t have to.

What makes this fragrance so special is the balance. The rose and vanilla are in perfect conversation with each other, and neither note takes over. It’s not a rose with a hint of vanilla. It’s not a vanilla with a sprinkle of rose. They are equal, and that’s genuinely hard to achieve in a fragrance.

It sits somewhere between sweet and floral, with a warmth that comes from the amber wood and white musk in the base. For the price, it smells incredibly polished — almost like it shouldn’t be from Zara.

The honest bit: Longevity is on the shorter side, around 3–4 hours on skin, but it lasts longer on clothes.

Best for: Everyday wear, gifting, floral-gourmand lovers Longevity: 3–4 hours on skin, longer on clothes Vanilla type: Floral vanilla – perfectly balanced with rose

3. Nykaa Moi Caramel Éclair — ₹899 (50ml, Gourmand Collection)

At ₹899 for 50ml, Caramel Éclair has absolutely no right to perform the way it does.

This is one of the most richly gourmand fragrances I own – a blend of nutty caramel and vanilla that smells warm, indulgent, and almost edible. It’s similar in spirit to SDJ 71 (Sol de Janeiro), which is a much more expensive fragrance in the same family. The hazelnut note gives it a slightly nutty depth that keeps it from being one-dimensionally sweet.

And the longevity? Genuinely surprising for the price. It lasts close to 6 hours on skin, which is remarkable for an Indian drugstore brand. If you love gourmand fragrances and want something that delivers without the designer price tag, this is your answer.

Best for: Evening wear, gourmand lovers, value seekers Longevity: ~6 hours on skin Vanilla type: Nutty caramel vanilla – Not a blind buy

Mid-Range Picks (₹1,500 – ₹8,000)

4. Paris Corner Rifaqat — approx. ₹1,849 (85ml, Whiff Culture)

Fair warning: this one is not a blind buy safe fragrance. But if it’s your thing, you will absolutely love it.

Rifaqat opens with a very prominent black pepper note — bold, almost smoky, slightly resinous. It can feel intense at first. But give it time. Once it settles, it transforms into this beautifully boozy, spicy vanilla that feels dramatic and sophisticated. It’s inspired by YSL Babycat, and reportedly very close to the original.

This is a cold weather, date night fragrance all the way. The kind you wear when you want to be noticed, when you want something a little unexpected. For the price, it’s an absolute steal — you can grab it for under ₹1,850 on Whiff Culture, which makes the complexity and longevity here even more impressive.

The honest bit: The opening can catch people off guard, so definitely try a sample or decant before committing to the full bottle.

Best for: Date nights, cooler weather, bold fragrance lovers Longevity: Around 5 hours on skin Vanilla type: Spicy, boozy vanilla

5. Lattafa Angham — approx. ₹2,369 (100ml, Whiff Culture)

Angham is often compared to Burberry Goddess, but honestly, most people who try both end up preferring this one. It’s beautiful, wearable, and completely its own thing.

Lattafa Angham perfume close-up — vanilla lavender fragrance India

The opening hits you with ginger and peppercorn, nothing sharp, just enough warmth and spice to make you pay attention. And then it settles. The dry-down is the star of the show: a soft, airy blend of vanilla and lavender that is some of the most wearable, feel-good vanilla I’ve encountered. The vanilla here isn’t heavy or sweet, it’s light, almost transparent, with a floral warmth that feels like comfort without being overwhelming.

Great for everyday wear, office, casual outings. Not ideal on very hot days as the warmth of the notes can feel a bit much in intense heat.

The honest bit: Longevity is moderate — around 5+ hours on skin with about an hour of noticeable projection. Not a powerhouse, but completely appropriate for its character.

Best for: Everyday wear, office, cooler months Longevity: 5+ hours on skin, ~1 hour projection Vanilla type: Light vanilla + lavender, non-gourmand

6. Lattafa Nebras — approx ₹3,000 (100ml)

This one is described as inspired by Billie Eilish’s No1 perfume, though I haven’t tried the original to compare. What I can tell you is that Nebras on its own is absolutely addictive.

It’s a blend of vanilla and cacao with amber and even though amber and musk are listed in the notes, I personally don’t get much musk from it. What I do get is a beautiful, sweet, almost dessert-like chocolate vanilla that is warm and deeply comforting. It’s the kind of fragrance you want on a cozy evening at home, or stepping out on a cool night.

It’s not light. It doesn’t pretend to be subtle. If you love gourmand fragrances, this one is going to live in your collection permanently.

The honest bit: Lasts 4–5 hours on skin. Best in the evenings and cooler weather.

Best for: Evening wear, cool weather, gourmand lovers Longevity: 4–5 hours on skin Vanilla type: Sweet chocolate vanilla – a very wearable gourmand

7. Gulf Orchid Tahara Vanilla — approx. ₹2,500–3,000 (60ml)

This one is genuinely underrated, and I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about it.

Tahara Vanilla is a clean, musky, powdery vanilla — the kind that sits close to the skin and makes you smell effortlessly put-together. It’s pretty in the most uncomplicated way. There’s a creaminess to the vanilla, softened by jasmine and lily of the valley, and grounded by a gentle musk and tonka base.

What makes it special for Indian fragrance lovers specifically is that it actually works in warmer weather. Most vanilla fragrances become too heavy, too sweet, too rich when the heat hits. Tahara Vanilla somehow stays clean and wearable even then. It’s a summer vanilla — and that’s a rare thing.

Best for: Summers, everyday wear, minimalist scent lovers Longevity: 4–5 hours on skin Vanilla type: Clean, musky, powdery vanilla

8. Maison Asrar Vanilla Aura — from ₹319 (Whiff Culture)

This is one of my more recent buys, and it’s unlike anything else on this list.

Most vanilla fragrances go in one of two directions, creamy and sweet, or warm and woody. Vanilla Aura does neither. It opens with a bright citrus accord – bergamot and lemon and then the vanilla comes through slowly, carrying that freshness along with it. The result is a sour, almost tart vanilla. Not citrusy gourmand but genuinely fresh vanilla with a slightly edgy, unusual quality.

I’ll be honest: I’m still macerating my bottle, so my opinion on longevity may evolve. Right now it lasts around 4–5 hours on skin and closer to 6 hours on clothes. And it is 100% not a blind buy safe fragrance. People who love traditional creamy vanilla will likely be confused by it. But if you’re someone who finds most vanilla fragrances too sweet, this one might be exactly what you’ve been looking for. You can grab a decant from Whiff Culture to try before committing to a full bottle.

Best for: Adventurous vanilla lovers, those who prefer fresh over sweet Longevity: 4–5 hours on skin, ~6 hours on clothes (still macerating) Vanilla type: Fresh, slightly tart vanilla

Designer / Luxury Picks

9. YSL Libre — approx. ₹11,000+ (50ml)

YSL Libre was one of my first designer fragrances, and it holds a special place in my collection for that reason alone. But it also genuinely earns its place on any vanilla list.

This is not a sweet vanilla. There’s no dessert quality here whatsoever. Libre is sexy, mature, and intensely feminine — a combination of lavender and orange blossom on top, with Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean in the base. The vanilla adds warmth and sensuality without tipping into gourmand territory. It’s the kind of perfume that makes people turn around.

My honest opinion? It’s beautiful, and it lasts incredibly well — around 6 hours on skin. But the fragrance market has exploded with similar DNA in recent years, and that has made Libre feel slightly less special than it once did. You’ll recognize its signature in many more affordable fragrances now. Still worth it if you love the original, but worth trying alternatives before committing.

Best for: Date nights, evenings, mature feminine vibes Longevity: ~6 hours on skin Vanilla type: Warm floral vanilla – not gourmand, very sexy

10. Lancôme La Vie est Belle — approx. ₹6,600–12,500 (30–100ml)

I got this one recently and fell completely in love.

La Vie est Belle is a white floral vanilla, heavy jasmine, iris, and orange blossom with warm praline and vanilla in the base. It’s rich, feminine and unabashedly glamorous. The floral and gourmand notes are in conversation here rather than competing, creating something that feels both bright and deeply warm at once.

What surprised me most was the longevity: it lasts almost 8 hours on my skin, which puts it ahead of many fragrances in this category. If you’re someone who loves the idea of a fragrance that lasts all day without reapplication, this one delivers.

It’s a sophisticated fragrance with a bit of presence, not for minimalists or those who prefer skin-close scents. But for someone who wants to walk into a room and smell like they mean it, La Vie est Belle is hard to beat.

Best for: Special occasions, evenings, gifting Longevity: ~8 hours on skin Vanilla type: White floral vanilla, rich and opulent
